Announcements

10/20/09: The Micsoft Office suite avaliable in the UG Computer Lab has been upgraded to Office 2007. As always, feel free to email the CEMS IT Office at support@cems.umn.edu if you need technical assistance.

10/09/09: An upgrade to Office 2007 is in the works and planned for Sunday, October 18. If you have questions or concerns regarding this upgrade, please email the CEMS IT Office at support@cems.umn.edu.

10/09/09: Free training courses on Microsoft Office and other commonly-used applications at the University of Minnesota are available from the University Technology Training Center (UTTC).

10/09/09: We're currently doing a strict assessment of the costs associated with the three public printers in 132 Amundson. Look for what we anticipate to be price reductions in the near future.

10/09/09: Over the summer, we introduced a new printing accounting system called Papercut. This system should make it easier to determine your printing balance and view your printing history. When you login, there should be a Papercut printing icon in the system tray. Double-clicking on that will show you your printing balance. Clicking on "Details" from that will take you to a login page where you can view your printing history and related charges.

10/01/09: Roaming profile limits have been increased from 30MB to 50MB. Keeping your profile small will help make login and logout quicker. A place that is part of your roaming profile is the Desktop; consider saving things to your home (H:\) instead. We're looking into ways to eliminate or redirect problem folders to make login and logout more effective.

07/06/09: All uglab problems should now be directed toward support@cems.umn.edu

06/24/09: There will be new computers available in the UG lab for the fall of 2009.

01/05/08: Please go to the CEMS Main Office in Amundson 151 if you need to put more money in your printing account.
