Application FAQIf you still have questions after reviewing this information please contact Julie Prince.
What is the application deadline for applying to Chemical Engineering and Materials Science? January 1, 2010, to be considered for assistantship or fellowship support. Will you accept applications after the deadline set by the Department? We strongly encourage applications to be submitted by January 1, 2010. Applications received after February 1, 2010 will be considered, however, offers will only be made to exceptional applicants since most of our positions will be filled by then. Can I submit paper applications in lieu of the online applications? We require that both applications be submitted online. If you do not have online access, please contact Julie Prince. Can I receive a waiver for the Application Fee? No. The Graduate School and the Department will not waive the fee unless you are an active duty member of the United States military deployed overseas. These applicants should contact the Graduate School regarding waiver of the application fee, when your application is ready for submission. Can I defer payment of the application fee until the Department makes a decision? No, the application fee cannot be deferred. All offers of financial support are pending completion of your applications. Can I have a friend or relative in the United States pay the application fee for me? Yes. While submitting the online application the payment must be made by credit/check card online. Additional information on paying the application fee is available at: Online Graduate School Application for Admission Is financial support available for the Ph.D. degree? All full-time doctoral students in good academic standing receive complete financial support in the form of an assistantship or fellowship. These are 50% appointments and receive a stipend, full tuition waiver, and a health insurance package for which you will be charged a minimal fee.
