3) Welcome and introductions: Nobody new.
4) Minutes from last meeting (May 31, 2000) approved.
5) First-year student pizza lunch:
--Discussed which topics are important topics to first-years--advisor selection, managing time, etc
--Wes H. volunteered to organize.
--Grants possibilities for event--GAPSA ($2000 for a one-time activity), Coca-Coal (for academic, campus life, etc. activities), fee committee.
6) Phil Cole briefly described the grant application procedure.
7) TA committee (Nancy and Wes): Nothing to report.
8) Career committee: Academia career symposium (Emil, Nancy, and Rhui)
9) Paul's pre-seminar powerpoint presentation preferred over Prodromos' preference of a departmental newsletter. Paul will look propose this plan.
10) Departmental coffee: Ryan O'Connor has contacted another vendor to replace the current, miserable lounge coffee.
11) Replacing lost members: Start advertising to first years so that they are active by January (for elections).
12) Standing budget, bank account, and funding were discussed. Fundraising at the Metrodome concession stand was considered.
