Current openings

We have openings in several of our research programs at this time:
Nanoparticles
Students must be US citizens to be eligible for a Fellowship from our IGERT Program
Surfaces of Metals by STM and LEEM
This research is an ongoing collaboration with Sandia National Lab. in Livermore, CA, and will involve the student doing research at the Livermore lab. US citizenship is required.
Microscopy of Grain Boundaries in Metals
This research is an ongoing collaboration with Sandia National Lab. in Livermore, CA, and will involve the student doing research at the Livermore lab. US citizenship is required.
Microscopy of Ceramics, Semiconductors and Metals
The techniques used include TEM, SEM and AFM.
Proposals are under consideration at several agencies and may result in new positions for Summer/Fall 2006.

Undergraduate and Postdoctoral Positions
We typically have 2 or 3 undergrads working in our group during the semester.
We welcome enquiries from undergraduate students interested in working with us during the summer.
Janet McKernan is a Junior Scientist in our group.
In general, we have one postdoc. in our group at any one time.
Undegraduates from Physics and Chemistrry are welcome to apply for positions in our group.
