Co-Advisor: Dr. Alon McCormick Started: 2004 Office: 421 Amundson Hall Interests: I am looking at the effect of polymer binders on the stress, modulus and cracking of nano-composite particulate ceramic coatings. As binder content increases, the stress and modulus also rise up to a point that is linked to the complete filling of the pores between particles with binder. Particulate coatings do not dry uniformly and a lateral drying front is present in these coatings. I am also exploring the effect of polymer binder on the lateral drying front and its connection with the stress evolution.
