Post Doctoral Positions
Two Postdoctoral Positions open in Computational Biology and Experimental Synthetic Biology:
____________________________________________________________________________________
A postdoctoral position
is available to work on synthetic gene network engineering, in the laboratory of
Dr. Yiannis Kaznessis, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials
Science.
The overall objective
is to engineer gene networks such as bistable switches, amplitude filters
and actuators in bacteria. Applicants should have or expect to receive a doctoral degree in molecular
biology, biochemistry or other related area and experience in experimental
gene cloning and expression (construction of cDNA, Recombinant DNA), S/N/W
blotting; experience with flow cytometry is preferred but not required.
Applicants should
send a C.V. along with the names, e-mail addresses and phone numbers of
three references to:
Professor Yiannis
Kaznessis

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research fellow to work on the development of computational biology methods. Special priority will be given to protein-ligand and protein-protein interaction techniques. The project is advised by Professor Yiannis Kaznessis of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science.
A Ph.D. or equivalent in bioinformatics, computational biology, biophysics or related field is required. A strong background in biophysics with excellent computational skills and experience in bioinformatics tools are essential. Free energy calculations experience a plus. Experience with protein docking methods is also a plus.
The appointment will be for one year, and will be renewable for a second year.
The University of Minnesota is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages qualified women and minorities to apply. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
Please send a C.V. and contact information of two references to:
