These two instruments are used for determining surface area and pore size distribution of diferent materials. Both instruments are manufactured by Micromeritics. The gas sorptometer model is ASAP 2000 and the Mercury porosimeter is model Poresizer 9320.
The gas sorptometer can obtain full adsorption and desorption isotherms; single point and multipoint BET surface area; Langmuir surface area; BJH adsorption and desorption, pore volume and area distributions by pore size and total pore volume.
The Mercury porosimeter can determine the pore size distribution from a few
hundred microns to about 6 nm. This instrument works from vacuum to 200 MPa.
