- Collaborative work between three CEMS research groups, Tsapatis, Mkhoyan and Daoutidis groups, was published in the September 7, 2018 issue of the journal of Science. The team, led by CEMS Professor Emeritus Michael Tsapatsis, currently at Johns Hopkins University, recently developed a new fabrication method of a zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) nanocomposite membranes by an all-vapor-phase processing method. The synthesis of membranes through such ligand-induced permselectivation of a nonselective and impermeable deposit is shown to be simple, highly reproducible and holds promise for scalability. The work is titled “Zeolitic imidazolate framework membranes made by ligand-induced permselectivation.” The work was also highlighted in this week’s issue of the journal of Nature (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-06203-9).
