Forkus wins inaugural AIChE Food, Pharmaceutical and Bioengineering Award

Nov. 21, 2016 - Brittany Forkus, a fifth-year chemical engineering Ph.D. candidate, has been selected to receive one of four oral presentation awards from the 2016 AIChE Annual Meeting in the Food, Pharmaceutical and Bioengineering Division (FBPE). In 2016, the FPBE Division instituted awards to recognize excellence in presentations by graduate students at the AIChE Annual Meeting. As an award recipient, Forkus will receive a cash stipend to cover conference expenses and will be presented with a plaque during the AIChE 2017 Annual Meeting in Minneapolis. Forkus works with Professor Yiannis Kaznessis on the development of antibiotic-alternatives for livestock use.
