- Members of Associate Professor Bharat Jalan's research group earned runner-up awards in a poster competition at the recent International Workshop on Oxide Electronics (IWOE 24) in Chicago on September 27, 2017. Each poster session had a single first-place winner and two runner-up winners. Tianqi Wang, a sixth-year materials science and engineering graduate student, won an award for his poster titled, "Stabilization of Sn2+ and Growth of High-Mobility SrSnO3 films via Hybrid MBE." Dr. Laxman R. Thoutam, a post-doctoral scholar, won an award for his work, "The Role of Point Defects and Band Offsets on Quasi-2DEG at Complex Oxide Heterostructures." All winners received a cash prize and certificate.
