Neurock awarded 2015 Robert Burwell Lectureship in Catalysis

April 28, 2015 - Professor Matt Neurock has been selected as the recipient of the 2015 Robert Burwell Lectureship in Catalysis, a prestigious award given biennially by the North American Catalysis Society. Neurock is being recognized for his sem­i­nal con­tri­bu­tions to the devel­op­ment and appli­cation of the­o­ret­i­cal and com­pu­ta­tional meth­ods to eluci­date cat­alytic mech­a­nisms and the active sites involved. He has also pio­neered first-principle kinetic Monte Carlo meth­ods that explic­itly track mol­e­c­u­lar trans­for­ma­tions on real­is­tic sur­faces at rel­e­vant con­di­tions. The award consists of a plaque, an honorarium of $5,000, and travel stipend of $4,500. Neurock will lecture at most of the local catalysis clubs during the two-year period covered by this award.
