Rettner awarded NIST Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship

April 4, 2017 - Emma Rettner, an undergraduate student double majoring in materials science and engineering and chemistry, has been selected for a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Gaithersburg in the MML/NCNR Chemistry Biochemistry program. During the 11-week NIST SURF program, Rettner will be working with University of Minnesota alumnus Joel Sarapas (Chemistry ’11) as her mentor in the Polymers and Complex Fluids group in Gaithersburg, Maryland on a project titled, “Cone‐Shaped Bottlebrush Polymers through Multiple Controlled Polymerizations.”
