Five CEMS graduate students to present at 2016 Doctoral Research Showcase

April 4, 2016 - Five CEMS graduate students, Tuoqi Li, Dayne Plemmons, Yi-Shu Tai, Jeffrey Ting, and Andrew Xu, will present their research at the 2016 Doctoral Research Showcase from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in the Great Hall of Coffman Memorial Union. The purpose of the showcase is help the Doctoral Dissertation Fellows gain exposure for their work, and become skilled and comfortable with presenting their findings to non-specialists.Their research will focus on the following topics:

Tuoqi Li (co-advised by Lorraine Francis and Frank Bates), "Realizing Enhanced Toughness in Block Copolymer Modified Brittle Plastics"

Dayne Plemmons (advised by David Flannigan), "Observing Energy Transport on the Nanoscale with Ultrafast Electron Microscopy”

Yi-Shu Tai (advised by Kechun Zhang), "Engineering Microbes for the Production of Sustainable Chemicals”

Jeffrey Ting (co-advised by Frank Bates and Theresa Reineke), "Design of Tunable Polymers as Excipients for Oral Drug Delivery"

Andrew Xu (advised by Bharat Jalan), "Synthesis of Novel Electronic Materials with Atomic-layer Control”
