Holmes named Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professor at University of Cambridge

Dec. 3, 2018 - Professor Russell Holmes has been awarded a Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship. This award will support an eight-month visiting professorship in the Cavendish Laboratory of Physics at the University of Cambridge. Holmes will collaborate with researchers in the Optoelectronics Group led by Prof. Sir Richard Friend. A Leverhulme Trust Visiting Professorship is meant to develop international collaborations, and allows institutions in the United Kingdom to invite a distinguished researcher from abroad for an extended stay. This competitive award cover travels expenses, research costs, and a stipend. Holmes will collaborate with researchers to characterize and better understand nanoscale energy transport in organic semiconductor thin films, with potential applications in light-emission and solar photoconversion. As part of his visiting professorship, Holmes will deliver a short course of “Leverhulme Lectures” at Cambridge and also visit other institutions in the U.K.
